I’m Justin Ashcraft.
I've spent over 20 years building software—mostly in insurance and financial services—which meant solving complicated problems for people who needed them solved fast. Whether it was untangling data workflows or rethinking how teams approach a problem, the work was always about finding the clearer path forward.
These days, I split my time between Los Angeles and adventures with my family (we've hit 20+ countries so far). I'm fascinated by how emerging tech—blockchain, AI, and everything in between—can reshape the way we work. I've led engineering teams, mentored developers, and learned that the best technical solutions come from understanding what people actually need, not just what sounds impressive.
When I'm not coding or traveling, you'll find me exploring something new, asking "why?" more than is probably healthy, and trying to stay curious enough to keep learning. This site is where I share what I've picked up along the way.
I've been coding for over two decades, but honestly? I don't think you need to know syntax anymore to build useful things. AI has broadened the builder era — and honestly, it's let me focus more on solving problems than writing code.
